Welcome to Save Shivalik, Save MotherEarth

'SAVE SHIVALIK SAVE MOTHEREARTH' is a non -governmental organization founded and incorporated on March 20th, 2017 with registration number HOSH/396/2016-17 under the Socities Registration Act. SAVE SHIVALIK SAVE MOTHEREARTH is a socio-environmental society located in Village Bodal Chhauni, PO Bodal in Dasuya.

The main objectives is to follow this statement: "Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs from natural resources."

Save Shivalik, Save MotherEarth is founded in March 2017 by the youths of Bodal Chhauni village who have a commitment to fulfill the constitutional obligation of protecting the environment; wildlife, wetlands and rivers apart from the undue encroachment of natural habitat of animals by humans, cutting of trees and unlawful mining in the region. We believe that all sections of the society need to be sensitized to the need to protect and conserve our natural wealth and resources.

We believe that our planet is entrusted to us for care-taking, to be used sustainably and handed over to the next generation with all its glory and values intact. We need to make people aware that they have a stake in the world around them. They must be educated so that they can then take informed decisions. We believe that if we create informed awareness, people will be able to take a stand on issues that could impact them in the short term and in the long run.

We start with creating awareness of major issues. We recognize the need for people to be aware of various developments and changes made by our government, in the laws and legislation that govern us and our country. Save Shivalik, Save MotherEarth addresses issues of environmental conservation at all levels using education, awareness and litigation to achieve its objectives.

Since it inception, Save Shivalik, Save MotherEarth has planted over fifty thousand tree saplings in Hoshiarpur, Punjab and these developed and grown plants are easily visible in the well defined green strips all over the urban areas. We not only plant the tree saplings but also ensure they are regularly cared, protected and irrigated with the help of a committed work force with a view to hand over a healthy and safe Earth for our future generation.

It has become quite necessary that every person of the society should ensure that they are fulfilling their social responsibility/contribution for a healthy environment around us by planting more trees, growing more medicinal and fruit bearing plants and crops with the involvement and gracious support of the general public and numerous corporate enterprises.

Save Shivalik, Save MotherEarth has been able to plant and distribute over fifty thousand tree saplings on our Mother Earth and further intends to carry out all environmental works like rain water harvesting, solid waste management, organic farming, etc.

Our Objectives

  1. To protect natural environment by sapling new plants, resist falling of social forest ,creating awareness of utility of medicinal plants among rural population by planting five medicinal plants village wise.

  2. To protect potable water from contaminating, misusing, wasting such water and recycle the waste water, apply methods to recharge ground water with rain water.

  3. To protect soil from contamination with waste plastic material, create awareness among people to segregate plastic material from garbage for recycle, avoiding using plastic carry bags, scientific waste (garbage) management.

  4. To protect natural structure of shivalik hills, natural fauna and flora with its geographical identity.

  5. To protect the shivalik hills by stopping destruction, by encroachment of illegal mining and digging and defacing moulds for converting natural hills in plains and fields or for personal as well as commercial picnic and recreation spots

  6. To revive shivalik wild life by planting trees, maintaining water containing spots and reinstating habitats (natural as well as artificial hanging nests) of various species of animal and birds.

  7. To revive and maintain liaison between human, nature and animal world for the sake of environment.

  8. To promote participation of people in environmental elevating activities by framing co-curricular and organize seminars in schools, colleges, academic institutions youth clubs, unions, village sabhas to spread awareness and to get involvement of maximum minds to achieve goal of society. To celebrate local festivals, national and international days to spread aware and maximum involvement of common mass.

  9. To promote awareness to conserve, save ground water level and optimum use of available water.) by holding exhibitions, collaborate conferences, seminars, symposia, meetings, demonstrations, mass mobilization campaigns, popular lectures, cultural programmes, etc

  10. To sustain natural sources such as water, soil, air and overall ecology by advising the State Government, Union Government or any other organization on matters related to environment by lobbing and pressure groups activities.

  11. To provide social justice and equality by helping the poor people in field of education, hygiene and sanitation, and living standard.
